  • enhance the lost fullness in the aging face

  • Action (effects) of botulinum toxin will start after 48 hours and may take one week to 10 days fro maximum effect
  • The effect lasts for 3 to 4 months, the time after which the lines begin to re-appear
  • Botulinum toxin is a treatment of temporary duration and should one decide to discontinue the treatment the treated muscles will eventually regain mobility

Dermal Fillers

Commonly referred to as ‘Wrinkle Fillers’ as the name suggests, fills the lost volume and irons out the wrinkles. Facial rejuvenation using dermal fillers is one of the most common treatments to reduce the visible signs of ageing.

Introduction
  • The supple softness of the skin gradually diminishes as our age advances. With time, the capacity of the skin to stay moist reduces. Even the activity of the oil glands diminishes over the years. The skin tends to become dry. As the tissue volume thins out, the lines around the nose, mouth & cheeks look hollow and therefore become prominently visible. The skin loses the soft, smooth feel and the youthful glow.
  • Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is one of the natural sugars produced in our body. Hyaluronic Acid helps in keeping the skin hydrated and plump. This soft, gel-like substance is injected below the skin. FDA approved dermal fillers containing Hyaluronic Acid are safe and effective. Once injected, they fill up space and correct the imperfections visible due to ageing.
Indications
  • Dermal fillers can not only smooth out the wrinkle but also have other applications viz.
  • Smoothen the lines around nose and mouth (also called as smile
  • lines, parentheses or marionette lines)
  • Reduce the vertical lines on the lips
  • Smoothen the chin crease
  • Enhance the sunken cheeks or temples, restore volume
  • Shape the lips to make them look fuller and beautiful
  • Enhance symmetry among facial features
Procedure
  • A short procedure takes only 20-30 minutes and is commonly performed in the clinic setting.
  • Hyaluronic Acid containing dermal fillers are infused with lidocaine anaesthetic that helps in minimising the discomfort during and after the procedure.
  • A local anaesthetic is also used to alleviate the pain and discomfort further.
Progress and Healing
  • Injection-related reactions are mild to moderate in impact and often resolve within 5-7 days.
  • The results are temporary and can be seen almost immediately after the procedure.
  • Results often last for 6-12 months or even longer.
  • The filler gets absorbed in the body gradually.
